Ben Powers

Ben Powers is a military historian, author, and public historian whose research focuses on military leadership, professionalization, and command culture. He is currently researching Continental Army officer development, professionalization, and the evolution of military leadership during the War for Independence.

Ben holds a B.S. in Communications from Boston University and an M.A. in Military Studies with a concentration in Strategic Leadership from American Military University. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies in history at Liberty University.

A retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel with twenty-four years of service, Ben currently serves as a Department of the Army Civilian employee for the U.S. Army Operational Evaluation Command. He is also President of the Board of Directors of the American Veterans Archaeological Recovery organization and co-host of the military history podcast Rogue Island.
