Upcoming Lectures, Talks, and/or Events

With autumn just around the corner, cooler weather on the horizon, and the holidays quickly approaching. Some stores in the local area have Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas decorations all for sale currently, Emerging Revolutionary War wanted to bring your attention to a few different Revolutionary War Era happenings to mark on your calendars. 

American Revolutionary War Round Table of Minute Man National Historical Park
October 23, 2017, 7 p.m.

Author Don N. Hagist, a member of the round table, will speak on his new and very unique book, “The Revolution’s Last Men: The Soldiers Behind the Photographs.” Don is an editor of the “Journal of the American Revolution” and the author of multiple books on the experiences of British soldiers during the American Revolutionary War.

Campaign 1776

Campaign 1776 is an initiative of the Civil War Trust to help spread awareness and preserve the battlefields of the American Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. From battlefield preservation news, to clean-up days at these historic places, to announcements on new battlefield initiatives, there is always something going on with Campaign 1776.

Fort Ticonderoga, Ticonderoga, New York

Labeled as “America’s Fort” and go visit to find out or debate, there are a few events upcoming and flowing into 2018. On the weekend of September 22-24, 2017, the site will host the “Fourteenth Annual Fort Ticonderoga Seminar on the American Revolution.” A great line-up of historians are scheduled to speak and a bus tour to Saratoga Battlefield is on the docket as well. Already looking forward to spring? Check out Fort Ticonderoga’s “Twenty-Third Annual War College of the Seven Years’ War” which will take place May 18-20, 2018. For more information on the weekend dedicated to the first global conflict, click here.
